President Donald Trump laid out his first clear terms for the end of the war with Iran on Friday morning, saying he would accept nothing short of capitulation.

“There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “After that, and the selection of a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s), we, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before.

“IRAN WILL HAVE A GREAT FUTURE. ‘MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN (MIGA!).’”

The Trump administration had previously laid out a list of objectives, including the destruction of Iran’s nuclear program and the Islamic Republic’s demilitarization, but it did not clearly lay out what the end goal was. His post makes clear that the United States and Israel’s operational goals are an end to Iran’s government altogether and the selection of a new leader approved by the U.S. and its allies.

TRUMP WANTS TO BE PERSONALLY ‘INVOLVED’ IN PICKING NEXT IRANIAN LEADER: REPORT

On Thursday, Trump said in multiple interviews that he wants to be involved in selecting the next Iranian leader.

Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei and most of the country’s senior leadership were assassinated on the conflict’s first day in a series of blistering opening strikes that have continued unabated throughout the week.

Mojtaba Khamenei, the 56-year-old son of the assassinated ayatollah, is widely expected to be the favorite to take over the Iranian government, but Trump told Axios that the son is a “lightweight.”

“I have to be involved in the appointment, like with Delcy [Rodriguez] in Venezuela,” the president said. “Khamenei’s son is unacceptable to me. We want someone that will bring harmony and peace to Iran.”

Just one day prior, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt fended off questions about the president’s comments and once again declared that Trump is not seeking regime change in Tehran.

“Regime change is not a phrase that we use again,” Leavitt told reporters during Wednesday’s White House press briefing. “But obviously, as the president has said numerous times, do we want to see Iran being led by a rogue terrorist regime? No, of course, not. So any day the United States of America is taking out a terrorist is a good day for our country and a good day for our people.”
