Hours after the first lady called for ABC to pull Kimmel from the airwaves, the president echoed the sentiment on Truth Social, saying the late-night host should be “immediately fired.”

“I appreciate that so many people are incensed by Kimmel’s despicable call to violence, and normally would not be responsive to anything that he said but, this is something far beyond the pale,” Trump wrote. “Jimmy Kimmel should be immediately fired by Disney and ABC.

“I appreciate that so many people are incensed by Kimmel’s despicable call to violence, and normally would not be responsive to anything that he said but, this is something far beyond the pale,” Trump said.

Trump said Kimmel’s segment showed a “fake video” of the first lady and the first couple’s son, Barron Trump.

“He showed a fake video of the First Lady, Melania, and our son, Barron, like they were actually sitting in his studio, listening to him speak, which they weren’t, and never would be,” he said.

In Kimmel’s “alternative” White House Correspondents’ Association dinner skit that aired on Thursday night, the late-night host said the first lady looked like an “expectant widow.”

“Our first lady, Melania, is here,” Kimmel said. “Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.”

The remark received a wave of backlash as Saturday’s dinner erupted into chaos after a man ran through a security checkpoint at the prestigious dinner, shooting at Secret Service, heading into the room where Trump and other officials gathered.

The alleged shooter, Cole Allen, was arrested on Saturday and charged on Monday with attempting to assassinate the president.

An alleged manifesto showed Allen was aiming to harm Trump and other administration officials who were in attendance at the dinner as guests of various media outlets.

“A day later a lunatic tried entering the ballroom of the White House Correspondents Dinner, loaded up with a shotgun, handgun, and many knives,” Trump said. “He was there for a very obvious and sinister reason.”

Trump’s remarks came hours after the first lady released a statement slamming Kimmel for the comment.

In a statement posted to X on Monday, the first lady accused ABC of “protecting” the “coward” late-night host.

“Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country,” the first lady said. “His monologue about my family isn’t comedy – his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America.”
