Stop Calling It Persecution! The Real Reason People Are Mad At You

NOT ALL OPPOSITION IS PERSECUTION: You hear it all the time, even from people who claim to be Christians: “I’m being persecuted! I’m being persecuted!”

But opposition isn’t automatic proof of righteousness. Because today you’ll see one Christian saying: “They’re persecuting me!”

But then, the other side saying: “No! THEY’RE persecuting ME!”

So, what gives?

Paul gives us the filter. He said: “Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil…” 2 Timothy 4:14

But why did Paul face this opposition? Was it because he was rude? Reckless? Political?

No. Paul tells you exactly WHY Alexander was persecuting him

“He hath greatly opposed our words.” 2 Timothy 4:15

OUR WORDS. The issue wasn’t Paul’s personality. It wasn’t his tone. It wasn’t his preferences. It was HIS WORDS, which given to him by Jesus.

So, here’s the point: When you face opposition, make sure it’s because you’re speaking God’s Word and NOT because of your behavior.

And when you see two sides both claiming persecution, just ask one simple question: “Which one is actually proclaiming the Word, and which one is just defending themselves?”

That’s the difference between persecution and pushback!

Ephesians 1:13 shares a powerful promise. It explains that you are saved and securely sealed the very moment you hear and believe the word of truth, which is the good news of your salvation.

That same message of truth is available to you right now:

“that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4.

Choose to believe this today. Life moves fast, and there is no better time to find that security than right now.
