JD Vance says ‘Emily in Paris’ is the ‘Shakespeare of our time’

Vice President JD Vance likened the Netflix TV show Emily in Paris to a “massive cultural criticism of millennial decision making” in a social media post on Monday.

Vance said he recently defended what he called the “masterwork of American television” in a debate with a friend. The Netflix TV show follows main character Emily Cooper, portrayed by actress Lily Collins, from Chicago to Paris as she brings her American experience to a new job at a French marketing firm.
