Former Vice President Kamala Harris signed with the Hollywood agency CAA for representation.
Harris previously signed with CAA as a senator until she was sworn in as vice president in 2021. This is an indication of her public future since losing her presidential bid in November. The agency said it plans to represent Harris generally while “focusing on speaking engagements and publishing.”
“CAA will work closely with Harris on her post-White House initiatives, creating strategic opportunities that expand her platform in support of the issues she has championed throughout her decades-long career in public service,” CAA said in a statement Tuesday.
This comes just before Harris is expected to attend the NAACP’s Image Awards, a ceremony largely dedicated to media accomplishments, to receive the Chairman’s Award. Harris will likely give an acceptance speech during the ceremony, which will be broadcast from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California, Harris’s home state, on Feb. 22.
CAA also represents former President Joe Biden, who signed on two weeks ago, former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground media company, and other former politicians. The agency also represents entertainers like singer Ariana Grande, actor Pedro Pascal, and baseball star Shohei Ohtani.
Harris dismissed questions about her next political campaign when she visited the site of the wildfires in the Los Angeles area last month. She said she wanted “to be in touch with my community, to be in touch with the leaders” and “support them.”

Since November, Harris’s husband, Doug Emhoff, became a partner at the law firm Willkie Farr and Gallagher, which has offices in New York City. The couple has an apartment on the Upper West Side and in Los Angeles, California, and they own their home in Brentwood, California.
Another book is presumably on the horizon for Harris, who wrote The Truths We Hold and released it in 2019 while she ran her first presidential campaign. It was No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list that year, when she also released the children’s picture book, Superheroes Are Everywhere. Her first book was a memoir called Smart on Crime, released in 2010.
