Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh confirmed that post-decision press conferences will continue in 2026.

“Between now and year end, my predecessors and the Federal Reserve committed to press conferences this year. I’m committing to press conferences this year,” he said at the conference Wednesday.

While the Fed again chose not to act at this meeting, Chairman Warsh pledged that the central bank will take action if needed on inflation.

The central bank chairman also noted, however, that the Fed under his watch isn’t in the forecasting business and won’t be providing further hints about where rates are heading.

When asked by a reporter about the argument to “pause” interest rates rather than hike or cut them, Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh said he wouldn’t characterize the decision that way.
