Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy’s surprising faith date night rituals after almost 12 years of marriage

Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy‘s date nights are centered around their faith these days.

At the 2026 iHeartRadio Awards, Wahlberg told Fox News Digital that he likes to watch shows like “The Chosen” with his wife of almost 12 years.

“Other than stuff like this,” Wahlberg began, referring to the award show, “Date night for us though typically looks like… we make a big plan, we’re about to get ready, and then we say, Ah, let’s stay in and watch ‘The Chosen.'”

“And then we watch ‘The Chosen.’ That’s kind of like date nights nowadays,” Wahlberg said.

McCarthy added, “Yeah, yeah, yeah. It’s definitely takeout and sitting back.”

McCarthy noted that it was a fine experience attending the 2026 iHeartRadio Awards with 50-year-olds still presenting.

“Well, date night… this is a fun night for us! You know what I mean? I said to Donnie, the fact that we’ve got some 50-year-olds in the house still being asked to present is not too shabby!” she began.

“You know what I mean? Back in my days of MTV, I was a little 20-something going like, ‘Oh my god!’ Now I’m in my 50s going, ‘Okay, we’re still here, we’re presenting, you’re still a rockstar,'” McCarthy said.

The 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards were held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by Ludacris.

The couple met in 2013 when Wahlberg appeared on McCarthy’s talk show, “The Jenny McCarthy Show,” and the pair shared a flirty exchange. They married in 2014 and have since become known for their playful, affectionate dynamic, often sharing glimpses of their life together online.

Over a decade later, they continue to prioritize their relationship through a unique tradition of renewing their wedding vows every single year.

In 2024, McCarthy was a guest on the “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” podcast and shared that the couple have renewed their vows 10 times.

“I used to make fun of celebrities when they would do it, or people in general, when they renew their vows,” “The Masked Singer” judge admitted. “I’m like, ‘That’s so corny and weird. Your wedding’s over. Just stay married,’ and then Donnie — this is a tradition Donnie wanted to implement.”

McCarthy continued, “He’s like, ‘I want to remind each other of our vows’ and talk about — like our pastor reminisces about the year and gives us a thing to think about as the year goes on.”
