But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we BELIEVE that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. For this we say unto you by the Word of the LORD, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the LORD shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the LORD Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the Trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the LORD in the air: and so shall we ever be with the LORD. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

The PGA Tour will return to President Donald Trump’s Trump National Doral resort in 2026 with the newly announced Miami Championship, marking the Tour’s first event at the iconic venue in a decade.

The tournament will be played from April 30 through May 3 and has a $20 million purse. It is one of nine limited-field “signature events” on the Tour’s 2026 schedule. The Miami Championship will be the fifth event held in Florida in 2026.

The tournament comes three weeks after the Masters and two weeks before the PGA Championship, positioning it as a key stop on the Tour’s spring calendar.

Trump National Doral hosted PGA Tour events for over 50 years until 2016, when the Tour pulled the WGC-Cadillac Championship after losing its title sponsor. The move coincided with Trump running for president.

Trump’s organization quickly celebrated the news, writing on X: “The PGA TOUR is officially returning to the iconic Trump National Doral for the Miami Championship, April 30 – May 3, 2026.”

The organization added, “For over 50 years, this world-class, award-winning venue has welcomed the game’s greatest players, with the legendary Blue Monster standing as one of golf’s most celebrated and challenging courses. Stay tuned for more details, and be sure to mark your calendars—this will be a championship you won’t want to miss.”

The PGA Tour’s return to a Trump property underscores how intertwined the president’s real estate empire has become with sports and diplomacy. Trump’s golf clubs have doubled as backdrops for high-stakes diplomacy.

In July, Trump hosted European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Scotland’s First Minister John Swinney at his Turnberry course in Scotland, finalizing a trade deal while boasting of the club’s opulence. At the same meeting, Trump fielded questions on Gaza and Ukraine, drawing international headlines for his blunt responses.

The announcement of the Miami Championship drew quick support from state leaders.

BOSTON MAYOR REJECTS TRUMP’S SANCTUARY CITY DEADLINE

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) responded on X: “Great to see the PGA Tour returning to Miami next year for an event at the Blue Monster course at Trump Doral.”

The PGA Tour will operate and manage the Miami Championship directly, similar to its role with the Cognizant Classic. All three FedEx Cup Playoff events will be broadcast on CBS, while the Miami Championship is expected to draw a global audience and rekindle memories of Doral’s long-standing role as a stage for golf’s legends.
