“Yesterday’s horrific attack in Boulder, Colorado, WILL NOT BE TOLERATED in the United States of America,” Trump wrote in a social media post on Monday. “He came in through Biden’s ridiculous Open Border Policy, which has hurt our Country so badly. He must go out under ‘TRUMP’ Policy.”
Trump added that “Acts of Terrorism will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law,” one day after suspect Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, allegedly injured at least eight people aged from 52 to 88, including a Holocaust survivor, who were at the Run for Their Lives event calling for the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza.
Soliman, who allegedly yelled “free Palestine” during the attack, was charged with a federal hate crime on Monday, in addition to murder, assault, and other charges at the state level.
“This is yet another example of why we must keep our Borders SECURE, and deport Illegal, Anti-American Radicals from our Homeland,” Trump wrote. “My heart goes out to the victims of this terrible tragedy, and the Great People of Boulder, Colorado!”
Soliman reportedly entered the U.S. in August 2022 as a nonimmigrant visitor and was granted a two-year work authorization in March 2023, but that visa expired earlier this year.
During a brief exchange with reporters shortly after Trump’s post, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said antisemitic violence, including last month’s shooting deaths of two Israeli Embassy aides outside of the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, “is unacceptable to this president and this White House.”
“Rest assured to all Jewish Americans across our great country, this president has your back and he’s not going to allow anyone to take part in violent terrorism,” Leavitt said. “It’s acts of terrorism in our country, and that’s what this case in Boulder, Colorado, is being investigated as. Kudos to our FBI Director Kash Patel for immediately calling this a targeted terrorist attack. That’s clearly what it was.”
Leavitt said the Trump administration “has done more than any administration to curb this violence and to curb illegal immigration.”
BOULDER TERRORISM SUSPECT MOHAMED SOLIMAN IS ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT WHO ENTERED UNDER BIDEN: DHS
“We secured our border in record time, but we’re also tightening up our visa process and our legal immigration process,” she said. “We know that this individual, this terrorist, was allowed into this country by the previous administration, was foolishly given a tourism visa, and then was illegally allowed to stay. These individuals are going to be deported, and we’re not going to tolerate such violence in our country.”
Soliman is being held on a $10 million bond at the Boulder County Jail.
