But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we BELIEVE that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. For this we say unto you by the Word of the LORD, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the LORD shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the LORD Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the Trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the LORD in the air: and so shall we ever be with the LORD. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Following news earlier this month that CBS would be canceling Colbert’s The Late Show, Trump has reveled in his longtime critic’s demise. After formerly claiming credit, the president backtracked in a Tuesday Truth Social post, saying he wasn’t “solely responsible” for Colbert’s “firing.”

“The reason he was fired was a pure lack of TALENT, and the fact that this deficiency was costing CBS $50 Million Dollars a year in losses — And it was only going to get WORSE!” he said.

Trump then directed his ire toward late-night hosts Kimmel and Fallon, two other longtime critics of the president.

“Next up will be an even less talented Jimmy Kimmel, and then, a weak and very insecure Jimmy Fallon. The only real question is, who will go first? Show Biz and Television is a very simple business. If you get Ratings, you can say or do anything. If you don’t, you always become a victim. Colbert became a victim to himself, the other two will follow,” he declared.

Trump was so often the target of Colbert’s show that he became almost a main character. The comedian’s frequent denouncements of Trump culled his audience into one almost entirely with his views, while conservatives went elsewhere, such as Fox News’s more popular Gutfeld!

The announcement of The Late Show‘s cancellation sparked outrage, tributes from the left, and celebrations from the right. Other late-night hosts and liberal figures viewed the cancellation as directly linked to Paramount’s recent settlement in Trump’s lawsuit against it. Paramount and critics pointed to the tens of millions the show was losing per year and the shrinking audience, as Trump pointed out.

Colbert responded to Trump’s previous gloating over his cancellation by asking if “an untalented man” could tell the president, “Go f*** yourself.”

Though his show was canceled, CBS is keeping Colbert on for another 10 months. He’s responded by turning his ire on the network, directly accusing them of accepting bribes. Critics have argued that the network should have canceled the show earlier.
