FROM whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. James 4:1-4

President Donald Trump said Thursday that he plans to award Charlie Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously.

Kirk, a close ally of the president, was assassinated on Wednesday during a speaking event at Utah Valley University. Trump spoke briefly about the prominent conservative activist during his opening remarks at Thursday’s 9/11 memorial service at the Pentagon in Virginia.

MANHUNT FOR CHARLIE KIRK’S KILLER: FBI RECOVERS RIFLE USED IN SHOOTING

“Let me express the horror and grief [of] so many Americans at the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk. I felt Charlie was a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty, and an inspiration to millions and millions of people. Our prayers are with his wonderful wife, [Erika], and his beautiful children, fantastic people they are,” the president said. “We miss him greatly, yet I have no doubt that Charlie’s voice and the courage he put into the hearts of countless people, especially young people, will live on.”

Trump added that he and the White House are already searching for a date to award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor.

“I can only guarantee you one thing, that we will have a very big crowd,” he continued. “Very, very big.”

Wednesday night, Trump recorded a video in the Oval Office where he blamed rhetoric from the “radical left” for Kirk’s death.

“Charlie was a patriot to my great fellow Americans. I am filled with grief and anger at the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk on a college campus in Utah. Charlie inspired millions, and tonight, all who knew him and loved him are united in shock and horror,” the president stated, referring to Kirk as a “martyr for truth and freedom.”

SECRET SERVICE IN ‘FACT-FINDING MODE’ AFTER CLOSE CALLS REIGNITE QUESTIONS ABOUT TRUMP’S PROTECTION

“My administration will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity and to other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it, as well as those who go after our judges, law enforcement officials, and everyone else who brings order to our country,” Trump added. “Radical left political violence has hurt too many innocent people and taken too many lives.”
