The Department of Defense said Hegseth will discuss the agency’s “vision for the Indo-Pacific region with regional defense ministers, underscoring its vital importance to U.S. interests.”
Eyes are largely on China in the Indo-Pacific region, which the U.S. views as a rising belligerent power looking to expand its influence at the cost of the U.S.
