President Donald Trump is holding a roundtable at the White House on Monday, where he is expected to announce a $12 billion package branded as an avenue to provide relief for farmers.
The roundtable is set to begin at 2 p.m. and will be attended by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, as well as corn, cotton, sorghum, soybean, rice, cattle, wheat, and potato farmers.
The majority of the package will be directed toward farmers through one-time payments under the Farmer Bridge Assistance program. The rest of the funding will go to farmers whose crops fall outside the umbrella of the assistance program.
