President Donald Trump will co-chair the “Summit for Peace” with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
The goal of the summit between over 20 world leaders is to bring an end to the war in the Gaza Strip. The President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, will be in attendance, but Israeli officials and Hamas leadership will not be in attendance, according to the Guardian.
The meeting follows Monday’s news that all 20 living Israeli hostages have been released from Hamas’s captivity and that Israel said it released over 1,900 Palestinian prisoners, according to the Associated Press.
