President Donald Trump admonished a reporter Tuesday after the reporter asked him a question and then interrupted him while he was giving his answer.
The reporter was NewsNation White House correspondent Libbey Dean. She asked if Iran has to make a deal for the U.S. to stop military operations against the nation and whether Trump has spoken to the country’s new leader.
“No, Iran doesn’t have to make a deal, no,” he said. “I’ve spoken to a lot of people. It’s a new regime. They are much more accessible. They are right. You know, they said, ‘We have a present for you, Mr. President, out of respect.’ And they said …”

Dean interrupted Trump’s response, leading the president to push back against her.
“Wait a minute. Do you want me to answer the question? You’re a fresh person. You know? We’ve had a lot of problems with you, haven’t we?” he asked.
“Uh, no, they don’t. You asked me a question. No, they don’t have to make a deal with me. When we feel that they are for a long period of time, put into the Stone Ages, and they won’t be able to come up with a nuclear weapon, then we’ll leave, whether we have a deal or not. It’s irrelevant.”

He added it was “possible” for a deal to be reached between Iran and the U.S., but that it wasn’t necessary to end operations.

Fox News Digital reached out to Dean and the White House for comment.
Trump added that there needed to be efforts to “straighten out our media” because people don’t believe mainstream outlets anymore.
“When you get 93 to 97 [percent] bad stories, bad press, and you win in a landslide, do you know what that says? People don’t believe the press,” Trump said. “And when people don’t believe the press, that’s a very bad thing for our country.”

“But we’re finishing the job. And I think, within maybe two weeks, maybe a couple a days longer, to do the job,” he said. “Now, it’s possible that we’ll make a deal before that.”
