President Donald Trump said that he was going to try to attend his son’s wedding this weekend, but isn’t making any promises.
Reports suggested that Donald Trump Jr. is set to marry Bettina Anderson over Memorial Day Weekend, which the president himself seemed to confirm while fielding questions from reporters during an Oval Office event Thursday afternoon.
“He’d like me to go,” Trump said when asked if he would attend the ceremony this weekend. “But it’s going to be just a small, private affair, and I’m going to try and make it. I’m in the midst — I said, ‘You know this is not good timing for me.’ I have a thing called Iran and other things,’” referring to the conflict in the Middle East.
“That’s one I can’t win on. If I do attend, I get killed. If I don’t attend, I get killed — by the fake news of course I’m talking about now,” he continued. “But she’s a person I’ve known for a long time, and, hopefully, they’re going to have a great marriage.”
The younger Trump has five children with his ex-wife, Vanessa Trump, whom he divorced in 2018. Donald Trump Jr. was later engaged to former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle, who was previously married to Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) while he was the mayor of San Francisco. Guilfoyle currently serves as the U.S. ambassador to Greece.

Shortly after splitting from Guilfoyle in 2024, Donald Trump Jr. made public his relationship with Anderson, who is also a close friend of Vanessa Trump, and the pair were engaged late last year.
