Where You Are is Where You Work!

Pro photographers have an old saying: You plant what will grow. Charleston, South Carolina became the hub of destination weddings, so that’s where I ended up, shooting weddings. Meanwhile, some of my friends lived in the Midwest. Nobody was flying there for weddings, but they had a booming High School Senior photography market.

Different soil. Different fruit. Same work. As Christians, we don’t always get to choose the people we influence.

Paul witnessed to prisoners because prison was his soil. The Thessalonians witnessed to influential travelers because their city was the crossroads. Daniel witnessed to kings and rulers because exile placed him in the palace.

Different soil. Different audience. Same faithfulness.

Whatever your sphere of influence is, make THAT the place where your light shines. Don’t wait for different soil. Don’t wish for a different assignment. Be faithful where God planted you.

“But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches.” 1 Corinthians 7:17

Christians don’t choose their soil. They choose their faithfulness. And it is God who makes their soil fruitful.

And WHAT IS that work for us to do today? Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 5:20,21

“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Now the most important message: Ephesians 1:13 gives a powerful promise: You are saved and securely sealed the very moment you hear and believe the word of truth the good news of your salvation. That same message of truth is available to you right now:

“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3,4

Choose to believe this today. Life moves fast and there is no better time to find that security than right now.
