That’s GREAT… but for WHAT PURPOSE

Many believers learn to “see the bright side” of things and that’s good. But what should be the end result of our trials?

Everyone loves an optimist. We all enjoy hearing a hardship story that ends with, “But I was better off for it.”

And that’s GREAT. Growth is good. Strength is good. Resilience is good. But for the believer, there is something more. There is a purpose beyond personal improvement.

The Apostle Paul tells us about HIS trials:

“But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places.” Philippians 1:12,13

Paul didn’t just say, “I’m stronger because of what I went through.” He said, “My trials advanced the gospel.”

His imprisonment didn’t just shape his character, it opened doors into the Praetorian Guard, the elite inner circle of Caesar’s household.

His suffering became a platform. His hardship became a megaphone. His chains became a pathway for the message of Christ.

So here it is: When we undergo trials… And AFTER we come through them… We should ask: “How can what I’ve experienced further the gospel?”

Not just: “I’m better now.” But: “How can God use this?”

Because for the believer, the end result of trials isn’t just personal growth. It’s kingdom growth.

Ephesians 1:13 gives a powerful promise: You are saved and securely sealed the very moment you hear and believe the word of truth the good news of your salvation.

That same message of truth is available to you right now:

“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3,4

Choose to believe this today. Life moves fast and there is no better time to find that security than right now.
