Divine Provision, Even in the Wilderness

God’s capacity to care for His people is absolute and unwavering.

Psalm 105:37-41, “He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them. He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night. The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven. He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.”

Surviving the Desolation

The care and provision of the Lord for the children of Israel during their wilderness wanderings is a truly remarkable story. The Sinai desert is known for its awful desolation, barrenness, and extreme heat. The Israelites could only survive through the direct protection of God.

God promises to care for His own. Even when circumstances are difficult and supplies appear to run low, He remains faithful. He is the God Whom David says will never forsake the righteous, nor will His seed ever beg for bread (Psalm 37:25).

Five Pillars of God’s Care

• The Resources: The wealth they brought out of Egypt (verse 37)

• The Relief: The relief which Egypt felt (verse 38)

• The Revelation: The revelation of God’s presence (verse 39)

• The Reward: The miraculous reward of the quail and bread (verse 40)

• The River: The river that came out of the rock (verse 41)

If God can bring food from heaven and draw water from a stone, He is entirely capable of taking care of all our needs!

Verse 37…“He brought them forth also with silver and gold; and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.”

Meditation Prayer:

“Thank You, Lord, for taking care of all my needs, and for never forsaking me in my trials.”

And now here is the most important message, the Gospel of the LORD Jesus Christ…

In Ephesians 1:13 the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul declares that men are saved and sealed by hearing and BELIEVING the Word of Truth, the Gospel of your Salvation. Therefore, here, now, is declared unto you the Word of Truth, the Gospel of your Salvation: “that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4. BELIEVE today. The time is short.
