Work for No Results?

Nobody likes to show up for work every day and get nothing done. No one wants to be unfruitful. No matter what your job, you want results!

But what about YOU when it comes to the Lord’s work? Well, the Apostle Peter gives us a good blueprint to follow:

“For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:8

Well we want to be fruitful in the Lord’s work. So WHAT should we ABOUND in? What are “these things”? Peter gives a list of things, but we can start with the first one on Peter’s list!

“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue…” 2 Peter 1:5

We as believers already HAVE faith. But what can you add to that Faith? Peter lists first: VIRTUE.

What is Virtue? Virtue is doing the right thing regardless of the situation. It’s doing the right thing, when nobody is watching.

Because when you grow actual fruit, no one watches you all the time. But work STILL needs to be done. So, you do the right things… at the right time REGARLESS. And you get results.

We want to do the SAME for the Lord’s work.

Ephesians 1:13 gives a powerful promise: You are saved and securely sealed the very moment you hear and believe the word of truth the good news of your salvation.

That same message of truth is available to you right now:

“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3,4

Choose to believe this today. Life moves fast and there is no better time to find that security than right now.
