I had an onset around the age of 40. Turns out it was celiac disease causing it…the villi of the small intestines are destroyed, which is where iron and other nutrients are absorbed. It is not an uncommon symptom of celiac in adults. Strict adherence to a gluten free diet reversed anemia, seasonal allergies, joint pain and more.

I agree a gluten-free diet is key to many health issues. The book, NO GRAIN, NO PAIN by Pete Osborne is a great resource. Our “gut-biome” is of high importance for all nutrient actions inside us. Glad this was brought up to begin learning how to help ourselves. But again, the quality of our diet is countered by income and healthy foods in the markets – and education of how foods effect our digestion and use of nutrients. We also need a parent or guardian at home to prepare better meals for our children – the way it used to be.
