Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton put U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) on blast in a new campaign ad. The ad used artificial intelligence to show the senator sitting on the beach and going down a water slide on spring break.

President Trump is fighting to protect our nation and stop illegals from voting, but his agenda is on hold because John Cornyn is on spring break,” the ad said.

Cornyn has been criticized for leaving Washington, putting the SAVE America Act and funding for the Department of Homeland Security on the back burner.

Paxton and Cornyn are running for Senate in Texas. The runoff primary election is set for May 26 and could quietly shape where the Republican Party is headed.

“Cornyn skipped town instead of fully funding DHS or working on reconciliation,” the ad continued. “Let’s give John Cornyn a permanent vacation.”

In March, Cornyn released an AI ad attacking Paxton for his alleged mistresses.

Cornyn, 74, has long been seen as a leader in Republican politics. Paxton, 63, is a supporter of Trump and is known for legal opposition to Democratic presidents, including actions taken by his office against the Biden and Obama administrations.

CORNYN AND PAXTON TO FACE EACH OTHER IN THE GREAT TEXAS TRUMP-OFF

This race could reshape power in the Senate if Cornyn loses, reducing the influence of more traditional Republicans. The latest polling indicates that Paxton holds a steady lead over Cornyn.

The Washington Examiner reached out to Cornyn’s office for comment.
