‘Lioness’ star Laysla De Oliveira says fans need to ‘stop asking’ if Cruz is the traitor

“Lioness” star Laysla De Oliveira is smacking down the idea that her character is a traitor.

The third season of Taylor Sheridan’s hit CIA/military series recently wrapped up, and it ended with an explosive reveal:

Aaliyah – a main character in season one – was the puppet master behind Joe’s abduction.

However, there’s another lingering question that (kind of?) remains unresolved.

Who is the mole?

Laysla De Oliveira shoots down possible “Lioness” theory.

Oliveira stars as Cruz in the popular series, and her character helped spearhead Joe’s rescue towards the end of season one.

I can’t say I’ve ever heard or seen a credible theory that she was the mole, but the talented actress is making it clear that’s not the case.

She recently posted a TikTok video declaring that the theory is nonsense.

“You guys have to stop. You have to stop asking me if I’m the mole because I don’t know if we watched the same show or not, but what I can say is that [Cruz] was in shambles because she could not find Joe. Okay? So, let it go,” Oliveira explained.

There are a couple observations to make here. First, it would make absolutely no sense for Cruz to be the mole, given the reveal at the end of season three.

It doesn’t logically track at all that she would be involved in Joe’s abduction orchestrated by Aaliyah. To paraphrase Oliveira, what show were people watching that I missed?

Second, are we even sure there actually is a mole? I’m not convinced in the slightest. In fact, that seemed to be Sheridan executing an outstanding misdirection effort.

He had everyone wondering who the mole was when, in reality, the person pulling the strings was tied back to the operation in season one.

I have seen no concrete evidence to suggest a mole is still in play after season three ended, but I’m also open to being proven wrong. I’m just supremely confident it’s not Cruz.
