But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we BELIEVE that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. For this we say unto you by the Word of the LORD, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the LORD shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the LORD Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the Trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the LORD in the air: and so shall we ever be with the LORD. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

  1. Angela Frick says:

Could you analyze a national sales tax?

  2. Gary says:

It is understood that a Fair Tax (national sales tax) would be enacted at the same time all other taxes would be terminated.
What people skip right over is that if everyone paid the same DOLLAR AMOUNT per year, that would be equality. (Everyone pays the same price for a concert ticket no matter their income.)
If everyone paid the same PERCENTAGE sales tax, that is even “more fair” to poor people. We have to quit punishing the rich, which never works out anyway.
The solution is to have a national sales tax, only on new goods (no sales tax on used goods, food or drinks, medicines, education or services). It would not tax essentials, which is the first large chunk of people’s income, which would protect the poor. It would only partially tax discretionary spending beyond necessities. And if you don’t want to be taxed at all, buy used goods, used houses, used cars, etc.
As for government programs, they are governmental social engineering, and are unconstitutional. The fundamental functions of the federal government is to protect our rights, and protect our country from within and without. So let people take care of themselves, and there will be a lot less corruption through money and favors.

  3. Vickey's Vintage Antique Remnants says:

Thinking we have to much over spending with current taxation for projects not needed. National sales tax is so much more fair and equalized than current over reaching into everyone’s pockets. We need sustainability in our daily lives. Fair tax gives us more to protect our places to live and to be able to feed our families. Government cut down to size and people funding what their interests. Makes so much more sense. We can do it. I’m already active in our city counsel meetings. It starts at the bottom and works upward. Stand strong for our values.
