The Unseen War of Exodus

The Exodus story is one of the most epic dramas in history. While most people are familiar with Passover, the real story behind the other nine plagues is often missed. These were not just random natural disasters. Each plague was a targeted strike against a specific ancient Egyptian god. It was an invisible, cosmic war meant to be a dramatic, undeniable display of supremacy by the God of Abraham and Moses. 

Plague Eight: The Locust Swarm 

While the earlier plagues might have had some breathing room between them, the eighth plague hit immediately after the seventh. A massive swarm of locusts flooded the land, wiping out every single leaf and twig that had somehow survived the recent hail and fire. 

This total destruction exposed the complete impotence of Egypt’s divine protectors: 

• Nepri: The grain god was completely powerless to save the harvest. 

• Ermutet: The goddess of crops was nowhere to be found. 

• Anubis: The jackal-headed guardian of the fields failed his watch. 

• Osiris: The supreme god of agriculture could do nothing to stop the devastation. 

With their food supply gone and their gods humiliated, the Egyptian people lost their faith. The air was thick with the threat of rebellion.
