WATCH LIVE: Bessent stands in for Leavitt at White House press briefing
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will hold a press briefing at 2 p.m. on Thursday, filling in for press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who is on maternity leave.
Bessent will be the third Cabinet member to fill in for Leavitt, following Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The treasury head is likely to face questions about whether President Donald Trump will sign a ceasefire agreement to halt the war in Iran for 60 days, the fiscal impact of the war, and the high cost of living ahead of the midterm elections.
