WATCH LIVE: Karoline Leavitt holds press briefing

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is holding a press briefing at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, the first since the government shut down.

Leavitt’s briefing comes 13 hours after federal funding lapsed, sending the government into its first shutdown since December 2018 to January 2019.

The Trump administration’s tariffs on pharmaceuticals, trucks, and kitchen cabinets also took effect on Wednesday.
