President Donald Trump will speak on Thursday to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Social Security, over a month after signing the “big, beautiful bill” that deducts taxes on senior citizens’ retirement benefits.

Trump is expected to highlight his “no tax on Social Security” policy, which the White House championed leading up to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act’s passage in Congress last month.

Trump has repeatedly said he would not cut Social Security benefits, contrary to claims from Democrats. Yet the federal program is in dire straits, as it faces a risk of insolvency over the next decade due to the reduced tax revenue on benefits.

AS SOCIAL SECURITY TURNS 90, CONGRESS FACES DEADLINE TO PREVENT BENEFIT CUTS

The Social Security Administration was founded on Aug. 14, 1935, under President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Trump is scheduled to deliver his remarks on Social Security starting at 1 p.m. Thursday.
