White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is set to hold a press briefing Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. EST.
Jean-Pierre will likely address Sunday’s “apparent assassination attempt” targeting former President Donald Trump at his golf course in Florida. President Joe Biden and Trump spoke on the phone Monday and the former president “expressed his thanks for the call,” according to the White House.

Officials in Florida have launched an investigation into the incident.
“We have a very strong interest in holding this suspect accountable,” said Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL).
