YOU thought it should be ONE WAY. God saw another!

How many times have you thought THIS is the path. You take it, but you can’t see to figure out why it’s not working. Maybe that isn’t God’s direction for you!

But here is the twist. Imagine if things ARE working for you and you are shown a DIFFERENT PATH?

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5,6

Notice it says PATHS. Plural.

Here is the situation. It’s hard to imagine a more successful ministry than Phillip in Samaria:

“Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.” Acts 8:5,6

So… what would YOU do? I’ll be honest. Looks like a pretty successful visit to me. People even shouting in unison! I’m sticking around!

But at the height of revival, God sends him where?

“And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.” Acts 8:26

Makes no sense to me. It probably made no sense to Philip. But only LATER ON would Philip know why. This was the account of him baptizing the Ethiopian. And NO DOUBT this would have caused much good because he was in charge of the treasury of an African queen. Basically, Philip baptized the treasury secretary of a Queen!

So regardless of whether we need to endure in an assignment God gave you. OR we are successful but then called into another direction… the important thing is WHERE to look for direction.

Philip had an angel tell him, but today we have the Bible in full to look for God’s direction.

Follow THAT and make it YOUR WAY.

Ephesians 1:13 gives a powerful promise: You are saved and securely sealed the very moment you hear and believe the word of truth the good news of your salvation.

That same message of truth is available to you right now:

“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3,4

Choose to believe this today. Life moves fast and there is no better time to find that security than right now.
