Don’t Marvel at the Creation! Give PROPER Credit to the Lord!

We have become a society today where we MARVEL at people. We see athletes do amazing things. We see musicians play and we sit there with our jaws open.

While we can appreciate hard work, as believers, we strive to put all things in balance. While we appreciate drive and determination to master skills; we are careful NOT to drift into idolizing people.

Now if you were to ask MOST believers, they would say, “Me? No. Never. I would never worship them!”

But LOOK at the key word that Peter warned people about in the Bible:

“And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?” Acts 3:12

Notice that Peter didn’t say… “Why are you worshiping me?” No. He said, “…why MARVEL at this?” In other words, Peter wasn’t warning them about worship. Peter was warning them about misplaced awe.

Not bowing. Not idolatry. Just that subtle drift where your eyes slide off God and lock onto the person He used.

Slide your eyes back to the Lord. Appreciate the person. But credit the power that moved through them.

And most of all… beware of the ones who do what is written in the book of Romans. Those who:

“Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” Romans 1:25

Ephesians 1:13 gives a powerful promise: You are saved and securely sealed the very moment you hear and believe the word of truth the good news of your salvation.

That same message of truth is available to you right now:

“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3,4

Choose to believe this today. Life moves fast and there is no better time to find that security than right now.
