Prosperity Gospel or Priority of the Gospel?

There seems to be no end “Prosperity Preachers.” These ones have turned worship into a “Vending Machine God.” You worship and you put IN for what you can get OUT of it.

Here is one of the Scriptures that can easily be misunderstood if you don’t read it carefully and you don’t understand what’s going on.

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

At first, you think, “GREAT! Riches!” But the important thing is to understand what’s even going on here in this Scriptural verse. Paul is talking to members of the Philippian congregation who were generous with Paul when the other churches at the time wouldn’t lift a finger to help him.

So, the Philippian gave to Paul to help sustain him in need. They put God’s work as a priority in their lives.

Paul was saying in essence, when you put God as a priority in your life, he will take care of your needs.

There’s no promises of riches. But is that what we’re looking for anyway?

What we want is a relationship. Father to Son. Father to Daughter.

So, put first things first in your life!

Ephesians 1:13 gives a powerful promise: You are saved and securely sealed the very moment you hear and believe the word of truth the good news of your salvation.

That same message of truth is available to you right now:

“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3,4

Choose to believe this today. Life moves fast and there is no better time to find that security than right now.
