President Donald Trump, like many Americans, has a hunger for success and certainly works up an appetite.
“He’ll first start off with candy bars,” Oz said on Donald Trump Jr.’s Triggered podcast on Monday. “He’ll hit the red button, and then comes the diet soda pop.”
Oz then talked about the president’s theory about diet sodas and their supposed cancer-curing abilities. He detailed how Trump once argued while on Air Force One that “diet soda is good for him because it kills grass, it’s poured on grass, so therefore it must kill cancer cells inside the body.”
“He’s got Fanta on the desk, and I say, ‘Are you kidding me?’ Oz said. “So he starts to sheepishly grin because ‘you know, this stuff’s good for me, it kills cancer cells.’ And then he tells me it’s fresh-squeezed, so how bad could it be for you?”
Trump Jr. responded, “Maybe he’s onto something, because I will say this: I know a lot of guys pushing 80, not a lot that have his level of energy, recall, stamina.”
In 2016, after looking at Trump’s medical lab records, Oz said it’s unusual to see someone with such good results from eating “non-healthy food.”
Earlier this year, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Trump had the “most unhinged eating habits” out of all the Cabinet members.

Trump Jr. joked about the president trying the Atkins diet, and how he’d have a steak, but add “half a pound of ketchup on it” and then say he would just have “one scoop of ice cream.”
“Food is sort of, that’s his thing. He doesn’t drink, he doesn’t do drugs,” Trump Jr. said.
