Vance plays Fox News host and introduces segment on dad jokes, talks Iran deal

Vance was asked about reports that Iran would be receiving $300 billion for reconstruction as part of the deal, but he clarified that the monetary bonus would not be paid by the United States.

The vice president explained that “Iranian propagandists” are highlighting the ways the peace deal benefits Iran without mentioning what Tehran will have to forfeit, such as the pursuit of nuclear weapons.

“Not a single cent of American money under any circumstance, no matter what the Iranians do, goes to Iran,” Vance said, adding that the financial benefits Iran will see could come from foreign investment.

“If the Iranians transform how they interact with the world, we will transform how the world economy interacts with Iran,” he said. “But if they don’t do any of that stuff, they don’t get any of these benefits.”

He then said the benefits for Iran are “icing on the cake,” considering it will have to forfeit several other items.

“If Donald Trump were elected the supreme leader of Iran, the Democrats would still say the United States has lost this,” he said, pointing to left-wing scrutiny of the deal with Iran.

Vance also touched on the politicization of the war in Iran, saying Democrats’ criticism centered on Trump and not what has changed in the Middle East.

Trump has said the agreement with Iran would also include reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Other reports suggest Iran could see sanctions lifted and assets unfrozen in addition to the $300 billion reconstruction fund.

Vance had made several media appearances this week, including on Hannity, The View, The Five, Gutfeld!, and The Megyn Kelly Show. Eyes are on Vance as a possible 2028 presidential candidate, but he may have also turned in his news anchor audition tape.
