WATCH LIVE: Trump and Vance announce $25 million fraud whistleblower program
President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance are set to announce a $25 million fraud whistleblower incentive program on Tuesday afternoon.
The effort would encourage whistleblowers to report fraud tips to the federal government quickly and easily. The program offers up to $30,000 for tips that result in successful fraud convictions or significant federal enforcement actions, a White House official told NewsNation ahead of the announcement.
Trump is expected to present a $10,000 check to independent journalist Nick Shirley, according to the news outlet. Shirley has led his own investigations uncovering fraud in Minnesota and California.
The Oval Office event is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m.
