Ben Carson would have been my choice. I like him as a person. He came from humble beginnings and rose above it all, and I think that would have resonated with a lot of people. He’s highly intelligent and speaks to people with respect, whether they agree with him or not. Plus, he may be soft-spoken, but I see that as an advantage. It makes people lean in and really listen!
I admire, even love Ben Carson, and have followed Ben since Gifted Hands was published. He’ll be a great asset to the administration as he has been. He wrote about his temperament in Gifted Hands, he always had staff whose job it was to handle adversarial people keeping them away from him. His temperament would not do well against the players on the Left today. I have other reasons but this pretty well covers them all. Watch his demeanor in an interview then picture him in a tense situation with the opponents Trump will face, as well as dealing with world leaders…No, I hope Ben serves the next Trump administration though.

What do we know about JFK Jr since he went off the radar? What do we know about his political ideas or his ability to make the right decisions in tough situations? i’m sure having him as VP would create an emotional high point and perhaps draw votes. But the title, leader of the Free World, is not something we bestow because of sympathy or to the orphaned children of slain presidents. I would love to think he has survived, and that he would be able to enjoy the love of a country that has grieved. But we have a responsibility to the rest of the world to at least know the person to whom we give that title.

Much rather have Admiral Michael Rogers. We need a VP who has it all, and the ability to continue Trump policies. Realistically, we have to face the fact Trump will not be with us forever. I love Trump so much and want to see his work continue with a worthy VP and #48-49. Unless John John becomes visible again, I believe Rogers if firmly the best running mate we could ever hope for.
